To assist in informing the public regarding local COVID-19 cases, Yolo County also launched a new online tracker located at: www.yolocounty.org/coronavirus-dashboard. The dashboard displays data regarding confirmed cases in Yolo County by city/area, age range, gender, and more.
Homeless Provided Shelter During COVID-19 Emergency
With guidance from the Yolo County Health Officer and the Governor's office, the City of West Sacramento has been working to shelter the most vulnerable members of our homeless population during this coronavirus health emergency.
Over the last three weeks, approximately 50 individuals aged 65 or over, or medically at risk have been sheltered in temporary accommodations in a secure environment with supportive services to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. This effort is aligned with the City's passionate response to homelessness and prioritizes both their health as well as the safety and security of the City. Homeless programs are facilitated in coordination with Yolo County Health and Human Services and the West Sacramento Police Department.
The Downtown Streets Team in West Sacramento reported that for the first time in the program’s history, all fourteen of their Team Members are now sleeping indoors. Read their post on Instagram for more.
